12" x 12" x 1/4" Graphite Plate

Love the large surface area. Great for working larger/longer pieces. Very nice for breaking pieces off, don't have to worry about pieces rolling off like you would on a smaller plate. I use a thicker plate for under my torch but this works fantastic for a working surface.

if any station needs something it this, ive used it for placing hot glass on. shaping, picking up silver, rolling hot glass to many different shapes. i use this every time on the torch

Having this large space to work with for leveling pieces, especially pieces with multiple spread out points of contact, is very helpful. Hard to mess up the angle between the mouth and can of a hammer when you have room to press the can till the mouth/blow tube touches enough to insure a stable angle. I could see how the thicker one would give me more comfort if I had a punti fail and a marble or something dropped on it. But mine isn't directly under the torch anyway so I'm not terribly concerned about a broken plate right now due to that.
