Details

Of the four shades of cobalt blue Northstar produces, this ranks as the second lightest. NS001 is well suited for small blown work, as well as sculpture when a medium transparent blue is desired. NS001 Cobalt Blue can take a lot of heat and can be worked in a wide range of flame settings. Though the color is extremely intense, be sure to stay out of reducing flames to prevent any dulling or graying.

AWESOME COLOR!!!!

by -

This color is awesome just saturated enough to be a nice dark cobalt color but not too saturated so you can work it hard and long and it won't get the gray streaks like the dark cobalt gets.... I keep a lot of this in the shop

Beautiful Blue!

by -

I always keep an inventory of Northstar's Cobalt Blue on hand. I have used in many different applications and love the results. This color is not sensitive to the different types of flames and I have had wonderful results to include coil pot application. If you are searching for a beautiful blue, Cobalt Blue is one to try!

Backing Color

by

One of my favorite backing colors for pendants. Works real easy and always keeps its color as long as you use a neutral to oxy flame.

Northstar's cobalt

by

Very nice color to work with, very cooperative :)

Bulletproof color

by

Cobalt is made by nearly every color company, but Northstar firsts are great quality and ready to go after a light cleaning. Works easily and very forgiving for new lampworkers, a great way to add some color to a project. Also has good saturation so it can be encased or thinned down and still keep a nice blue intensity.

Yeah!

Classic

The best classic Cobalt. Love using it worth fume work... won't let me give 5 stars or I would have.

Fume looks amazing!

by

I love how fume shows up on this cobalt! Reminds me of space!

Who doesn’t need cobalt?

by

Standard in the color palette, great to fume over and back fume with

Solid color

by

I love using cobalt as a base color in my work. It works stiffer than most colors so it can take a lot of heat. Awesome effects when fuming. Overall solid color great for beginner flame workers.

The quintessential I don’t have any black color. Cobalt is hella easy to work with, backs everything extremely well, and has many shades depending how thick it is. Always keep this one on deck

A Classic

An absolute necessity, and an underrated beauty. Stiff and forgiving to work, I love it for structure when I don't want to use clear or a more expensive color.
