Lava - Northstar
Details
NS064 Lava is a bright intense opaque orange. It is very bright and well suited for stringer application and blown work. It is not terribly sensitive to flame chemistry but stay out of overly reducing flames. Lava, however, is heat sensitive so it must be worked carefully to prevent boiling. Encasing with clear is another method to shielding the color, but not necessary. Lava can be easily worked on the surface and will not boil or scar if worked carefully in a soft flame. A nice color effect to try is a layer of NS007 Ruby over NS064 Lava.

NS cads are #1
by Cadoo
This is our favorite orange, super dense, vibrant and easy to work. Great for stringer application in encalmos, sculpture and coil pots without lines. Love
Nothing but the best.

Lava is a perfect addition to the cadmium line to fill in the fire-fade pallet. North Star cadmium are the most saturated on the market currently. Leading to some workability issues with beginner artists. With practice and persistence these full blooded cadmium colors will yield the best warm opaques available. Great for vac stacks or blow ins.

Love lava. Very vibrant and easy to work. Shops often ask for more pieces in this color after receiving their first order! Would recommend.

Awesome bright opaque orange! Definitely heat sensitive, like most warm tone cads, but pretty simple to work if you have the patience.

Great saturated orange

This color looks so great next to dichro in vortex marbles. Either ninja or galaxy to back it and it really shines.
Pleasant orange, saturate but not too bright
by Kevin
I find this to be a really pleasant orange. It isn't as bright as some oranges, which makes it good for use in rainbows, so it doesn't overwhelm the darker blues/greens
