Model 33 Over Prescription - BoroTruView 5.0 - Phillips
Details
Phillips BoroTruView 5.0 lenses are made for the true glass-working artist. These lenses are specially designed to offer excellent color recognition while working with colored glass while still providing UV, IR, and Sodium Flare protection. The gray IR filter is color neutral so you can easily see the different colors of the glass and the heat being applied. These revolutionary polycarbonate filter lenses are much lighter than conventional laminated and glass products. For larger pieces like candlesticks and statues, you will need the BoroTruView 5.0.

Couldn't be happier

I really love these glasses. No, I'm not 90 years old. They are just great. They offer stellar coverage and help less ambient light creep in from the sides and top allowing my eyes to more fully adapt to the darkness so I don't have the urge to peek while its out of the flame and cooling, just to see definition from what I did while in the flame. With or without my prescription glasses I would still probably prefer wearing these. PS...most glasses squeeze my temples and give me a headache, not these. And they came with a softcase and cleaning cloth. Need I say more?
These are comfortable and worth getting before bending and breaking normal sets. Just buy them and don't try using normal ones and damaging them

After bending and breaking the Phillips frames with the side shields on them for the third time, I finally learned my lesson and got these fit overs so I'd stop bending and breaking both my eyeglasses and my safety frames. I so a lot of color work and this shade is ideal for brighter applications and for mini torch welds. I've noticed the little torch can get extremely bright on certain welds and these shades actually leave my eyes feeling normal after working. I've had moments where they just feel strained or stressed but not burnt. Make sure you have decent studio lighting or these will be tough to see everything clearly on the bench. That's the only thing I wish was different but they are shade 5 and can't expect miracles
