14mm Ground Joint Plug - Wood Handle - Griffin Glass Tools
Some flameworkers have been forming their own ground joints using a reamer and a waxed glass ground joint to finalize the tapered fitting.
Griffin designed this line of tools as a two-part joint forming tool. Use the reamer to achieve 90% of the tapered fitting and the brass 'plug' to finalize the shape.
Both parts are the width and length of a German or AccuGrind™ ground joint. Joint forming tools should be waxed each time they are heated. For best results, slightly preheat the plug in the back flame before using. Overheating the tools while forming the joint may cause the two parts to stick.
Brass is used instead of graphite for longevity and consistency of the formed joint shape after multiple uses.
