Working Tip: Heat to a dull orange and cool multiple times to strike the color. Use a reducing flame to create the popular bleached tones.

Artist Description by Mike Shelbo:
"Silver Strike-5 will yield a range of color from creamy beige and tan to golden yellow and light browns.

Soft highlights of blue and light purple come from working the color on the surface. Also, leaving this color un-encased will allow you to reduce (heavy propane flame) to a metallic silver and golden brown metallic.”

must have

ok this is one of the most verstile colors. it is great in implosions! esp with simax. its good for making all types of natural objects like skin tone, wood, bone, bread, and more.

Even more silver saturation.

by

This color has a crazy amount of silver saturation. If you dot it over black and work it in a slightly reductive flame the end result will yield a deep bleach tone and the black will have turned to a dark blue due to how saturated the color is. Can be thinned out well, great for encasements/implosions, dot stacks, honeycombs. To get the best array of colors, flame strike in an oxidized flame. I however prefer the metallic finish of the quick reductive flame

Excellant color

We used this color in over 1/3rd of our shakers.

Fun to Work With

I wrap Silver Strike around white tube which fumes the white to a tan and the rod turns to nice cream colored stripe. Add a Northstar Grizzly and you have a beautiful latte looking design.
