Unique and Beautiful but Sensitive

by

This is a gorgeous cyan-blue which resembles the soft glass copper blue that's sorely missing from other manufacturers' boro palette. Sadly, that's probably for a reason: Get this too hot, and the color gradually fades away into a white semi-opaque mass of tiny bubbles. Even at lower temperatures, the color intensity definitely takes a hit if worked for a long time, with more of a baby blue result. Generally, if you treat this like a cadmium color you will get the best results.

<br>Finally, I don't know if this is just a problem with the rough underside of these bars interfering with glass adherence, but I've had several pieces with this color under deep clear encasement break. Not sure if it's a COE problem but something to keep in mind.

Update on above review

So after working more with this color, I can definitively say that it does NOT like deep clear encasement! The only pieces of mine that I've used Carribean Blue in that have survived are implosions featuring only thin bands of this color, so I suppose it's fine only in small applications. This is really disappointing because this shade of blue is absolutely unique for boro; no one else makes a color that's even remotely similar to this saturated cerulean blue (the photo is not lying!) Still giving it four stars because it's such a gorgeous and unique color, but it's a damn pain in the rear to actually work with!
