Details

GTT's instructional DVD is now available to view at www.glasstorchtech.com and will no longer be included with torches.

The Lynx is a 7 jet, Triple Mix Surface Mix Torch. It was the first Triple Mix Torch developed by GTT. The Triple Mix technology produces the most efficient flame available for today's glassblower. By surrounding the fuel with oxygen and then injecting oxygen directly down the fuel stream, the fuel is completely burned for a hotter cleaner flame. The oxygen streams are independently controllable by the green and blue valves. This provides a wider flame range and chemistry that is easily adjustable by the operator without changing tips or torches.

The Lynx has a small pinpoint flame for the utmost in detail work and finite heating. The Lynx works soft and borosilicate glass with finesse and ease. The flame is hot and penetrating for borosilicate work up to 2" solid, and soft and clean to work the most delicate soft glass colors. The Lynx is easily adjustable from a fuel rich reduction flame, to a clean neutral flame, to an oxygen rich oxidized flame, to an over-oxidized flame that is necessary for special glass effects.

The Lynx comes with 1' of 3/16" hose and adapters with filter screens to adapt to standard 1/4" ID grade "T" hose on each stud. The adapters have a barb that the 1/4" ID grade "T" hose slides over and is clamped securely. The Lynx comes on a powder coated base that has holes for mounting the base to the work table. Also included are complete instructions and a cleaning kit.

The Lynx platform also serves as the center fire for all of the larger 2 and 3 Stage Triple Mix torches.

love the lynx

this is the staple gtt torch to start out with. i've melted 1 inch+ heavy wall boro with this torch with ease and have flame cut 50 mill heavy wall with it. it is a very versitile torch that allows pinpoint flame characteristics for small work as well.

worth every penny

this is a great torch, the best in its size class. It makes clear beautiful glass without scum, trash, carbon etc from its crystal clear flame. The tripple mix is nowhere near as complicated as initial appearance. I was intimidated by the complexity initially, but it is simplicity itself once you've tried it a few times. Great on a concentrator, and more efficient than its peers. this torch will last you forever - that is, until you need a bigger one.

wow!

so the lynx is an UNBELIEVABLE little torch. the flame characteristics of this tiny little package is hard to imagine coming out of such a small torch. you can work such a wider range of flames with it, from the tiniest oxy rich lase flame to a huge bushy reducing flame, and EVERYTHING in between. having a triple mix gtt will open possibilities as far as using colors that is just NOT an option with other torches. gtt has made something special, for us, that is well worth the wait. the best investment a serious flameworker can make, i give beginner lessons, and have a lynx to teach people on and also a carlisle mini, to show the difference, and the lynx is preferred by 10 out of 10 students!!!

Mini-mighty!

I started getting into boro and needed a torch. After doing a good deal of research, I opted for the Lynx. Great torch for beginner - intermediate work. Looks good too sitting on your bench. Be sure to get the L marver for it! Would recommend to anyone.

Perfection.

Smooth sailing with this little guy. Not only is it beautiful, it functions beautifully as well. I bought this along with a Bethlehem Bravo. They definitely conserve the oxygen, and get the job done smoothly and quickly.

Lynx Love

After torching for months, I wanted to compare companies torches...The Lynx was a overall great torch for doing different many types of things but the thing that really got me was the control of the heat...GTT just seems to have their heat on point!

great torch

The Lynx is a great torch in its own right, but it is also a fantastic torch for people with an eye to eventually go bigger since the Lynx is the centerfire of Gtt's Mirage, Phantom, and Delta. You can move up and not have to relearn your torch. The lynx have an incredible range of flame sizes and characteristics from needle thin to big and bushy. I have melted 1 inch boro rod with mine but i have also dome fine soft glass stringer work. this torch is worth the wait and the price.

Look no farther! This is one of the most incredible small bench torches on the market. It can work soft glass all the way to full color Borosilicate rigs. Not saying it will be fast for full color rigs, but i have seen it myself. Excellent quality torch. Pro tip- dont snap puntys or rods on the barrel. She doesn't appreciate it. Better starting torch than a Redmax if you want flame precision and to save gas.

Nice torch

Great torch! Good for small detailed work, but can still work a decent size piece if you work in sections.

Yes, buy it, learn to run it, love it

This is the torch i chose to start out on and I’ve been nothing but impressed by it, if you’re careful you can make small rigs and things of that scale on this little torch so it makes light work of spoons or bong bowls etc, highly recommended to anyone looking for a solid bench burner

Amazing Torch!

I will tell ya that this torch can do a whole lot more than most think....I run mine on a 10 lpm oxycon and can melt through 20mm rod in about 1 min. or less....seriously a great torch for the beginner or for the long haul...Besides most of the GTT lines have a lynx as the center fire so learning to use it will open you up to graduate to a larger torch should you feel the need later....Just get it!
