GTT's instructional DVD is now available to view at www.glasstorchtech.com and will no longer be included with torches.

The Phantom torch is a 2 stage torch that uses the powerful Lynx 7 Jet for the center fire with a ring of 15 jets for the outer fire. This completely surface mix torch uses the patented Triple Mix technology to provide unparalleled flame chemistry for all types of glass.

The Phantom is the first of the 2 stage Triple Mix torches in the lineup. It is great for soft or hard glass with the ability to produce many flame types from a soft bushy flame to a hard driving flame. The flame chemistry that is achieved with the Triple Mix technology has a wide range including a fuel rich reduction flame, a neutral flame, an oxygen rich oxidizing flame, and an over-oxidizing flame. These flame types make any type, color or effect of glass easy to work and manipulate.

The Phantom is available in a 2 stud or 4 stud version to optimize any setup. The 2 stud is used when the fuel and oxygen come from a single source, and when there is no desire to use a foot pedal now or in the future. The 4 stud allows for the most flexibility for any setup to be run. The primary use is for a foot pedal to be used to turn the outer fire on and off with the outer fire valves preset to the desired setting. Also the 4 stud can make use of different oxygen sources such as a concentrator on the center fire and tanked oxygen on the outer fire. In this situation the fuel will "Y" together at the torch for simplicity. The 2 stud and 4 stud Phantom both work identically in function, the only change is the way the fuel and oxygen are supplied to the torch. A foot pedal is NOT required for a 4 stud torch, the hoses can "Y" back together to use a single fuel source and a single oxygen source with the option to use a foot pedal in the future.

The Phantom 2 stud and 4 stud come with 1' of 3/16" hose and adaptors with filter screens to adapt to standard 1/4" ID grade "T" hose on each stud. The adaptors have a barb that the 1/4" ID grade "T" hose slides over and is clamped securely. The Phantom comes standard with a purple manifold, red, blue and green valve caps and gold arms. It is mounted on a powder coated base that has holes for securing the base to the work table. Also included are complete instructions and a cleaning kit.

beast for the money

by -

I started with glass on a nortel midrange+. after about a year i upgraded to this and i felt like an idiot not having bought it before. the phantom is a super hot torch that can do way more than most would expect. you can rage this thing to melt 75 mil, though you have to be patient. the torch is VERY oxygen efficient. the long lynx flame is unmatched for I/O work. I now run a Kobuki(which has a phantom middle flame) and i run the phantom flame 90% of the time. awesome torch for the money, hotter than a carlisle.

awesome

this is my current torch, and I love it. everyday in the studio is a joy, knowing I have this beauty to work with. Clean, efficient, predictable, and smooth as the glass she melts, my Phantom is my favorite tool. The four studs allow me to run the center and outer flames both on seperate oxy concentrators, and it still produces super hot and raging flames on both. So hot yet so cool - the flame is so clean, no fuel or carbon spitting in my work. The triple mix allows the precision of handling the GTT guys are known for.

Well Worth It

This torch is simply amazing. For the size and price you can't go wrong with it. Big or small work this torch will get the job done. I would say this is an intermediate torch and you won't have to upgrade for a very long time.

Fuel efficient for the heat!

by

I upgraded to the phantom after 3 years of messing around on a minor burner, needless to say I was no longer messing around. The best thing about this torch is no matter what you are working on this torch can deliver the proper flame. I had been told these torches were oxygen hogs, and while of course the consumption is more than the minor, I was actually pleasantly surprised at how oxygen efficient it is for the amount of heat you get. If you get a GTT prepare to be immediately spoiled.

Phantom

by

I started out on a mini cc and I quite quickly upgraded to the phantom. This torch is quite a beast, with a great range of flame characteristics. It can hold quite a sharp precise flame, plus you can get a very directed flame with the outer fire running. The oppsite is true as well, it can do a large bushy fire-especially the outer ring. It runs quietly, efficiently, and really doesn't take a whole lot of cleaning if you are familiar with the best flame types this torch prefers. There is a learning curve to it, and I recommend watching the video and paying attention-especially first time GTT users. This torch produces a massive amount of heat, and it has given me some sunburns, so wear sunscreen y'all. Some rubber o-rings on the knobs will help keep you from accidentally adjusting them by adding a bit of friction. I have had a few things I'd like a bigger torch for but it's taken me several years to even start about thinking that. It's versatile and well made. Definitely recommend.

The best bang for buck torch you can get.

Mine is a first run 2 post that I’ve used for almost 20 years everyday I’m in the shop. What else can I say.

An affordable FOREVER torch

by

Incredible torch! Depending on the size of work you do this could be someone's forever torch! Has treated me amazingly after 3 years and still works as well as it did on day 1! There is so much flame versatility that working difficult colors are easy and with the penetrating heat it can make stiff colors feel like clear.

Ordered Sunday night was holding it in my hand by noon on Wednesday fast shipping great customer service Mountain glass is probably the best online retailer I've had to deal with so far and that's not just in the glass industry thank you again and keep up the good work

GTT all day

by

I worked on a redmax for about 8 years, the switch to this torch is mind blowing. The heat it produces is amazing, the flame sizes you can achieve are insane. Raging hot to needle point flame. Very consistent flame as well. MUCH quieter. All around a great torch, wish I would have made the switch sooner. 10/10 recommend.

Perfect

by

As someone just getting into lamp working it is a great all around torch. Great for beginners through professional. Can achieve needle flames and big bushy flames with ease.

I love it

I love this torch it my first Gtt that I have ever bought and I absolutely love it

One of the best!

by

I have the original Phantom from when they first came out and it’s one of the best torches out there, great versatility from working really small to fairly large pieces. The Lynx is the best center fire on the market in my opinion the smallest flame setting almost invisible still has the same melting power. If you’re planning on doing mostly larger projects you may want to consider the Mirage

Room to grow!

by

I Love my Phantom! I bought it as my first torch after renting on a cheetah for some time, and its been totally great - with room to grow in to. My plan is to move from solid sculpting to hollow work soon, and I can't wait to see what this torch is capable of!
