Details

Of the striking colors in the borosilicate palette the Amber/purples are some of the most exciting. NS013 is the first in a series of five Amber/Purple colors. It is well suited for sculpture and moderately thin blown work. The color can produce pale yellows to ambers to a deep purple. To yield the most vibrant purples, work in a hot neutral to slightly oxidizing flame. Reduction will affect the strike. Try encasing your favorite Amber/Purple with NS032 Violet or NS031 Lavender. To enhance NS013 Amber Purple try backing it with NS054 Star White.

This color is one of my favorites! Such deep purples and sometimes blues. Definitely work it hot and with alot of oxy. When you are finished flip the switch and turn up the propane! My favorite thing to do with this color is spin it up to get a chaotic color

My #1 Favorite

by

If someone said I could only have one color to work with, this would be the one.

Classic color for a reason

by -

It took me a while to get the hang of striking it in the flame, but once I did I unlocked a great palette. With practice I can now often achieve a nice mix of amber/purple sections that have an organic rather than flat color and can be dominated by a very vibrant purple.

Infinite potential

by -

I don't really need to leave a review saying how great this color is because its pretty obvious from the other comments, just get it. You cant go wrong with this color. Blowouts look great if you stir it up with a 3-4mm clear rod to get some depth to the strikes.
