GTT Torches

GTT Cricket

The Cricket is the newest of the GTT standard surface mix burners featuring 5 jets. It is an entry to intermediate torch, but even the skilled lampworker will be surprised by the performance of the Cricket.

This torch will be a great economical choice when setting up a studio with multiple torches. The Cricket was designed to get the best performance possible out of an economical 5 LPM 5 psi oxygen concentrator. The Cricket is not limited to small concentrator use, it does extremely well on 10 LPM concentrators as well as using tanked oxygen. This means that it maximizes the output of smaller oxygen concentrators and is very efficient on tanked oxygen too! It can be run on 1/4 psi fuel gas and 3 psi oxygen!

The Cricket comes standard with barb fittings and in-line filter screens to easily slide on 1/4” ID “T” grade hose and clamp. The standard Cricket valve body/cone is anodized purple with green and red knobs. Other colors are available for an additional charge; please contact us for a quote.

GTT Bobcat Torch

The Bobcat is newly redesigned for more versatile flame characteristics. The Bobcat is a standard surface mix torch with 7 jets. The Bobcat is capable of flame sizes from a 2" long pinpoint flame for detail work and finite heating to a 9/16" diameter, 13" long flame for 1.5" solid borosilicate glass work. The Bobcat can work up to 2" borosilicate pendant. It is great for making beads, marbles and sculptures in soft or hard glass.

The flame characteristics of the Bobcat make it a very efficient, clean burning torch that makes the most difficult colors and effects easy to work and control. The penetrating heat of the flame make borosilicate beads and pendants easy without any change to the torch setup.

The Bobcat runs very well on 5 LPM 5 PSI concentrators with optimal performance on a 10 LPM concentrator. Fuel pressures can be run as low as 1/4 PSI on Natural gas or Propane. The Bobcat makes the most heat out of the available fuel and oxygen for an extremely clean flame with no carbon on the torch when run properly. The Bobcat is not limited to small concentrator use, it does extremely well on 10 LPM concentrators as well as using tanked oxygen. This means that it maximizes the output of smaller oxygen concentrators and is very efficient on tanked oxygen too!

The Bobcat comes standard with B fittings. The stainless steel base has 4 holes for securing the torch to the work table, and can be used as a forming and shaping tool for hot glass pieces. Also included are complete instructions and cleaning wires.

GTT Lynx Torch

The Lynx is a seven jet, Triple Surface Mix Torch. It was the first Triple Mix Torch from GTT and their patented Triple Surface Mix Technology makes their torches produce the most efficient flame available for today's glassblower. These torches burn cleaner and have more flame characteristics than any other torch on the market today. This is the first Triple Surface Mix size in the lineup of GTT's Triple Surface Mix Torches. It serves as the center fire for all the larger Two and Three Stage GTT torches.

Set Propane Tank Regulator to 5 to 8 PSI.

GTT Cheetah Torch

The Cheetah is a thirteen jet, Triple Surface Mix Torch. It is similar to the Lynx, yet has more fire power and a wider flame; enabling one to work much larger pieces. A great addition to the GTT family.

GTT Scorpion 4-Stud Torch w/ Bobcat Center Fire

Once again rising above the ordinary, GTT has created the next generation of the standard torch, but there is nothing standard about it. The Scorpion uses the mighty Bobcat as the center fire and is equipped with B Fittings. The Bobcat is well known for its efficiency on a 5 LPM concentrator and the great ability to work both soft glass and borosilicate glass with ease.

The Scorpion has an 8 jet outer fire using our new patent pending 100% surface mix design that optimizes 10 LPM or two 5 LPM concentrators with optimal results. The Scorpion makes the flame size of larger torches with fewer jets, owing the phenomenal performance to the newest GTT innovations in jet design.

The Scorpion was designed with concentrators, low pressure and low consumption in mind. The Scorpion runs great on one 10 LPM concentrator, two 5 LPM concentrators or tanked oxygen. Oxygen consumption is 11 LPM (22 CFH) at the maximum flame size. It requires as low as ¼ psi to 5 psi of natural gas or propane with a low consumption rate of 1.5 LPM (3 CFH) at the maximum flame size. The Scorpion is the master at using low pressures for optimal results for soft or hard glass.

GTT Scorpion 4-Stud Torch w/ Lynx Center Fire

GTT Sidewinder 4-Stud Torch w/ Bobcat Center Fire

The Sidewinder has a 15 jet outer fire using our new patent pending 100% surface mix design that optimizes the available oxygen. The Sidewinder makes the flame size of larger torches with fewer jets, owing the phenomenal performance to the newest GTT innovations in jet design.The Sidewinder uses the Bobcat as the centerfire and is equipped with B Fittings.

The Sidewinder produces flame sizes from a tiny pinpoint flame for detail work up to a flame of 2 1/2" wide and 30" long for wide beads and solid borosilicate work up to 3" in diameter. The Sidewinder has excellent flame characteristics for soft glass and borosilicate glass that makes working easy and enjoyable. The colors of soft glass are easy to maintain and strike when necessary without burning or boiling. Borosilicate glass is easily worked by the penetrating heat of the Sidewinder without waiting for the glass to get to working temperature. The Sidewinder can completely melt through 3/4" solid borosilicate rod in 45 seconds! The Sidewinder is great for paperweights, marbles, beads, hollow and solid work.

The Sidewinder is available in a 2 stud or 4 stud version to optimize any setup for the same price. The 2 stud is used when the fuel and oxygen come from a single source (or concentrators "Y" ed together), and when there is no desire to use a foot pedal now or in the future. The 4 stud allows for the most flexibility for any setup to be run. The primary use is for a foot pedal to be used to turn the outer fire on and off with the outer fire valves preset to the desired setting. Also, the 4 stud version can make use of different oxygen sources such as a concentrator on the center fire and tanked oxygen on the outer fire. In this situation, the fuel will be "Y"ed together at the torch for simplicity. The 2 stud and the 4 stud Sidewinder both work identically in function, the only change is the way the fuel and oxygen are supplied to the torch. A foot pedal is NOT required for a 4 stud torch, the hoses can be "Y"ed back together to use a single oxygen source with the option to use a foot pedal in the future. The Sidewinder was designed with concentrators, low pressure and low consumption in mind similar to the Scorpion. The Sidewinder runs great on two 8 LPM concentrators or three 8 LPM concentrators for maximum performance.

The Phantom torch is a 2 stage torch that uses the powerful Lynx 7 Jet for the center fire with a ring of 15 jets for the outer fire. This completely surface mix torch uses the patented Triple Mix technology to provide unparalleled flame chemistry for all types of glass.

The Phantom is the first of the 2 stage Triple Mix torches in the lineup. It is great for soft or hard glass with the ability to produce many flame types from a soft bushy flame to a hard driving flame. The flame chemistry that is achieved with the Triple Mix technology has a wide range including a fuel rich reduction flame, a neutral flame, an oxygen rich oxidizing flame, and an over-oxidizing flame. These flame types make any type, color or effect of glass easy to work and manipulate.

The Phantom is available in a 2 stud or 4 stud version to optimize any setup. The 2 stud is used when the fuel and oxygen come from a single source, and when there is no desire to use a foot pedal now or in the future. Compressed Air Injection Technology injects compressed air directly into the fuel system of the torch. By precisely controlling the ratio of fuel and compressed air, the temperature of the flame can be controlled while maintaining flame chemistry and flame type. The Mirage torch is a 2 stage torch that uses the powerful Lynx 7 Jet for the center fire and 2 rings of jets with a total of 33 jets for the outer fire. GTT Kobuki Torch

The Kobuki Torch is a three stage Triple Mix torch with separately controlled center, middle and outer fires. The center fire is the standard 7 jet Lynx torch. The middle fire is the Phantom torch with 15 jets, and the outer fire is a single ring with 32 jets. The Kobuki torch was designed for those who love the Phantom size flame, but needed more heat for fast melt-ins and rapid heating for production work.

This torch is capable of imitating no less than 4 other torches plus a flame type all its own. The Kobuki has the flame types of the Lynx, Phantom, Mirage, Delta Elite and the wider Kobuki flame. This is a highly versatile torch that is a great option for those that need the heat of the Delta Elite with the option of having the entire lineup of torches that lead up to it.

GTT Yellow Jacket Hand Torch

The Yellow Jacket hand torch is a super precision hand torch featuring 1 jet that CANNOT be blown out … PERIOD*. This torch can be shaken, used in turbulent air, set down, and moved quickly without extinguishing the flame. This means no more lost work due to the flame blowing out or popping right at the most critical moment while working on your masterpiece.

The Yellow Jacket hand torch is capable of a super stable stinger flame less than 1/8” long and nearly invisible to the eye. It also produces a 16” long by 3/8” wide large flame with incredible power for only 1 little jet.

The flame characteristics consist of the wide range of flames that GTT is known for in every torch. From the reduction flame to the super oxidized flame and everything in between. The neutral flame range has a wide, easy to find “sweet spot”, unlike most torches on the market that have a narrow neutral flame that is hard to find. The oxidized flame is powerful and stable to keep the needle flame focused on the work at hand.

The Yellow Jacket hand torch comes with custom lightweight fuel and oxygen hose. The hose is coiled so that it stays out of the way when being used or stored. The ends of the hose have 1/4” hose barbs and a mounting block to attach to the work bench, table or lathe. This allows the Yellow Jacket to be at hand when needed, without the tangled mess of hoses all over. The hose length is 18” when coiled and over 48” when extended! The standard neck length is 4” with a 45 degree bend near the face of the torch.

GTT Lynx Hand Torch

The Lynx hand torch is a 7 jet, Triple Mix Surface Mix Torch. It was the first Triple Mix Torch developed by GTT. The Triple Mix technology produces the most efficient flame available for today's glassblower. By surrounding the fuel with oxygen and then injecting oxygen directly down the fuel stream, the fuel is completely burned for a hotter cleaner flame. The oxygen streams are independently controllable by the green and blue valves. This provides a wider flame range and chemistry that is easily adjustable by the operator without changing tips or torches.

The Lynx has one of the smallest pinpoint flames available in the industry for the utmost in detail work and finite heating. The Lynx works soft and borosilicate glass with finesse and ease. The flame is hot and penetrating for borosilicate work up to 2" solid, and soft and clean to work the most delicate soft glass colors. The Lynx is easily adjustable from a fuel rich reduction flame, to a clean neutral flame, to an oxygen rich oxidized flame, to an over-oxidized flame that is necessary for special glass effects.

The Lynx hand torch is available with different size neck lengths from 6" to 18" or more. The neck length is measured from the valves to the head of the torch. An optional hook can be is installed at the head of the torch so that a gas saver can be used, or the torch can be hung for convenience. The hook is able to be positioned where it suits the user the best, front, back or anywhere on the neck of the torch. The hand torch comes with 4' of 1/8" custom hose that is lightweight, durable and abrasion resistant. The hose features an aluminum mounting block that makes hook-up easier and a convenient mounting location to keep the hose out of the way.

GTT Cheetah Hand Torch

The Cheetah hand torch is a 13 jet, Triple Mix Surface Mix Torch. The Triple Mix technology produces the most efficient flame available for today's glassblower. By surrounding the fuel with oxygen and then injecting oxygen directly down the fuel stream, the fuel is completely burned for a hotter cleaner flame. The oxygen streams are independently controllable by the green and blue valves. This provides a wider flame range and chemistry that is easily adjustable by the operator without changing tips or torches.

The Cheetah works soft and borosilicate glass with finesse and ease. The Cheetah is capable of a small flame the size of a pencil up to a 3/4" wide 20" long flame. The flame is hot and penetrating for borosilicate work up to 2.5" solid, and soft and clean to work the most delicate soft glass colors. The Cheetah is easily adjustable from a fuel rich reduction flame, to a clean neutral flame, to an oxygen rich oxidized flame, to an over-oxidized flame that is necessary for special glass effects.

The Cheetah hand torch is available with different size neck lengths from 6" to 18" or more. The neck length is measured from the valves to the head of the torch. The hand torch comes with 4' of 1/8" custom hose that is lightweight, durable and abrasion resistant. The hose features an aluminum mounting block that makes hook-up easier and a convenient mounting location to keep the hose out of the way.
