Great torch

by -

I ordered this torch a couple months ago and I can say it does everything I need it to do. It is a great torch at a great price.

Trust me you'll love it

I'm new to the lampworking community and decided to go with this torch and I am very pleased with my decision. Now if I could just keep up with this torch's appetite for Boro tube and rod (moves though my small projects rather quickly) I'd be be set

Great torch

Bought this model for my first ever torch and absolutely love it. Used the top fire for small projects and worked to the red max burner after I progressed and worked with bigger projects! Absolutely love it! Have had it for little less than a year and still looks brand new!!! Great starter and great torch for the first few years of the trade! Came super fast and in the best packaging !!

Great beginner or work horse!

Was worried that it would be hell splitting up my long 4mm wall tubing, but the Red Max major cut through them like butter. And the Mega Minor is the way to go if you want to stay on your top fire for the majority of your work. Glad my buddies gave me a heads up on the mega minor top fire. It makes the other top fires look pretty weak.

Not A Better Torch For The Money

I seriously can't complain about this torch. The oxy consumotion is something to be desired but seriously for this price there just isn't a better torch out there. This thing will never let you down and will melt whatever you throw in front of it.

Proof you don't need to spend two thousand dollars on a Great torch. I used this for years and it was great. The best bang for your Buck!

This torch is lit!

This is my first torch - using it in my home studio. I've been using the mega minor top most of the time but when I really want to melt something bigger I go for the bottom. It was extremely easy to set up and it works great. Smooth knobs, baby. Shipping was very quick and everyone at Mountain Glass has been extremely helpful.

Outstanding torch

I have kept red max torches in my studio for about 10 years now, the mega minor top mount was deffinetly a nice upgrade, the hotter flame is very convenient. The torch uses minimal oxygen and is an wonderful tool to have...

Worth every penny

I'm so happy I upgraded to this torch. It does everything I need it to do. I don't think I'll ever upgrade from this torch. It's pretty much a 2 stage in 1. Great price to, got it on sale for $455.

Wise Investment & Solid Entry Level Torch

After asking several glassblowers in person and online I went with the RedMax with Major Minor. It can do absolutely everything you need to do until you graduate to a Mirage or whatever. Until your work requires something more intense, stick with the RedMax. This is the best torch available at this price point!!

Amazing torch!

My work is so much easier and more enjoyable now that I have this torch. I was going to get it with the surface mix but decider the little extra boost on top wouldn't hurt, turns out that's the main flame I use. I only have to turn on the big head when I'm working anything over 4x3 inches! To anyone looking for a reliable, long lasting, and effective torch look no further. If you are just starting out then spend the money on a good torch like this or a gtt

I bought this Bench burner on 5/8/2013 and i still use it today(12/2/2019), almost 6 years later, it is still a great torch for the money.

FEELS TOUGH AS NAILS !

I have been a gtt user since the start and still think they have some unique things that keep me going back to gtt . But for the price decided to try the RedMax. This torch will meet your needs for most things and if you are just starting out feels way more rugged and less fragile then my GTT torches. I am not sure if there is any actual difference between the integrity of either torch or if its just a perception thing, but i highly recommend this torch as a starter or even 2nd work horse. (the red max is a little bushier flame then some of the gtt flames but still well with in workable )
