Grizzly - Northstar
Details
NS144 Grizzly is an opaque brown. This glass holds a dense earthen brown which works well in sculptural and blown applications. As a cadmium based color, the working characteristics will be similar to NS065 Cherry or NS064 Lava. Grizzly is heat sensitive so it must be worked carefully to prevent boiling. Encasing with clear is another method to shielding the color, but not necessary.

Great for Prodo

I find Grizzly to be very forgiving when applied externally for production work. And I’ve never worked it in intense heat for a long time so I don’t know it’s limits in that regard.
Grizzly is my first choice

I ordered a sample pack of browns from Mountain and Grizzly is the one I went with. They all worked the same to me and the Northstar price was the best. I’d give it a 5 Star rating except that browns seem to lose their dark hue as the glass gets thin, as did each of the samples I tried. In my experience it’s not unique to Northstar
Never boils

Grizzly is dope! Nice opaque brown that is easy to work and super stable for deep encasements. I've never boiled it.
