the glass they send out is the popular Effetre glass (used to be called Moretti) from Italy and its COE is 104. Frit of COE96 can be used but use the 10% rule- your base bead has to be much larger than the amount of frit used at COE96. If the frit is of the same COE as the rods you use, their is no rule. Using the 96 is nice because it acts differently- almost rubbery so it can be raked and moved about on your bead. I personally like the brand Val Cox for its color combinations. They look great with transparent bases and encased in colorless (clear) glass. I'm a chemist and I hate when people use clear as a color. It's a description of transparency- clear, transparent or opaque. As a color, it's actually referred to as colorless. anyway, have fun!
