Better than you think

For traditionally getting a bad rep, the Nortel Rocket is suptisingly a good torch to work with. At a price point much cheaper than 2 stage torches of similar size, its a good entry torch for those looking to get into the larger flame sizes and not drop too much money. The torch is great working color as well as thin hollowform. Would be an excellent torch for scientific work or delicate blown vessels. Only downside is the flame does not have the same driving characteristics as other torches, so be a little more patient. But overall good torch to work with
Even tried a herbie and still go back to my red rocket

I use this torch for going 8 years. Never even a single candle out of wack. I would recommend to most depending on how your style of work is. Though I do agree with it not having the same driving force of flame but a little patience will achieve great results. It's a softer flame that will get as hot just not as fast. I find this to be much more controllable and predicable when it comes to keep even heat and keep colors from boiling. No reason to rush art. There's not been a single project at this torch has led me to believe I needed something more. "Thomas the tank engine"
