Hollow Ground Joint Holding Tool for 19mm Male - Blast Shield

Better than Brass
by EMILY C -
I bought this because I first purchased a brass one (which ended up expanding so much it could never hold the joint snug)- and it does do a way better job than the brass one. It holds the joint firm, it doesn't mark up the glass, it is SUPER light leaving no stress on your arms. Down side is, it doesn't come with a rubber/wood handle, and it is graphite and not very strong. I purchased mine a couple months ago (and haven't abused it) and it wore away from the flame and a chunk of graphite broke off the rim, making me have to replace soon.
A Must For GonG Users

If you use Glass On Glass joints this is a must. I have abused this tool pretty consistently for the last few years with no issues.
cant do slides with out it

obviously works really good for slides but it also helps me use it as a blow tube for doing reversals when your wig wag starts to collapse. its nice because you wont "tag" it with glass on glass
best out there

Ive owned three different gong holders and there is no comparison. Blast shield spin true on the lathe and are nice and lightweight. Tapping the aluminum handle gets the joint out easily. You can make hundreds of pieces before the graphite breaks down.

These are top quality and smooth as silk, a joy to use. I got all three sizes!
The tool performs exactly how its supposed to. Holds the joint tight but not too tight where you can't get them out anymore.
You can even put the tool upside down and the joint won't fall out. Amazing.
Price point is more than fair!
