Cerium Oxide Polishing Compound - 4 oz.
What is it and how is it used?
Cerium is a glass polishing compound. Using it creates both a chemical and physical reaction created by friction (caused by the leather or stiff felt pads) to polish the surface of the glass.
Please Note: Cerium polishes only the SURFACE of the glass. Any scratches deep enough to be felt with a fingernail will not be polished out using cerium alone. To do this, start with a coarser grit like 60/80 silicon carbide and slowly work up to cerium. THIS PROCESS TAKES A LONG TIME.
To use Cerium, mix the powder with water until it’s a slurry the consistency of milk. Apply it repeatedly to the leather or felt wheel as you polish. Cerium wheels work best when damp, not dry or wet.
NEVER polish glass when dry or you risk damaging your work and breathing in harmful glass dust.
