Blue Thunder - Northstar
Blue Thunder is a dark cobalt blue color with silver. When worked in an oxidizing flame, NS122 Blue Thunder yields bright metallic blues. When worked in a neutral flame it yields bright hazy greens. When worked in a heavily reducing flame, NS122 Blue Thunder produces a nice ash gray. It is well suited for stringer application, blown work, and sculpture. NS122 Blue Thunder is a lighter version of NS045 Blue Moon with the same working values.
Second quality glass can have the properties of odd quality glass, but may also have small stones, air bubbles, vary in tone/shade, or the shape can be very out of round. Both odd and second quality glass can provide a great value to the right person.

My Favorite Blue
by Al W -
This is one of the richest and most beautiful blues I have used yet. It is somewhat opaque but has just enough silver added to it to give really nice subtle striking effects that enhance and don't overpower the richness of the color. I like it a lot better than the more intense blue moon. I find blue thunder works really well on fumed pieces and really pops a brilliant rich blue when gently oxidized. It works a lot like blue moon but just a little easier to melt in and pulls a pretty decent stringer as well. I did not have any problems with it boiling easily either. I will be keeping this in my shop at all times. I really like working with this color a lot.
