Details

You can make figurines up to 12” tall in the F-130. Anneal large glass beads and marbles. Raise the spring-loaded vertical-drop door to insert a glass figurine with a punty rod. Lower the door. The punty rod will extend outside the firing chamber through the smaller 4” x 8” punty rod door. This allows even large glass pieces to anneal safely.

Enjoy the glittering beauty of dichroic glass. This kiln will give you a haven of creative enjoyment that will immerse you for many years. Imagine how it could change your life style.

Thick firebricks; sidewall element

The firebricks in the roof, walls, door, and bottom are 3” thick. This is 20% more insulation than the standard 2 1/2” firebricks in the walls and bottom of our earlier F-130 kilns. The extra insulation enables the F-130 to maintain a temperature hold with greater ease. Sidewall heat is now standard in the F-130. The element heats from the sides and back of the kiln in dropped, recessed wall grooves.

Deluxe door gaskets

Because of a gap under the small punty rod door, you can usually close the door all the way even when mandrels extend past the firing chamber. This helps to retain the heat in the kiln. Powerful, rare-earth magnets hold the punty rod door in the open and closed positions. To further retain heat, the 4” x 8” punty rod door is 2” thick and includes two woven, flexible high-temperature gaskets.

Slide-out mandrel holder

The mandrel holder can be adjusted horizontally and vertically without tools. Position the heavy-duty welded mandrel holder anywhere from 4 1/2” to 13” in front of the main section of kiln floor. (Note: The firebrick extension on the front of the kiln extends 3” beyond the front edge of the kiln floor.) Then tighten the mandrel holder with thumb screws. The holder slides inside steel tubes in the base of the kiln. The stainless steel mandrel rest, which includes 7 slots, can be adjusted vertically.

Sloped control panel

The control panel is angled for easy viewing and operation of the digital controller. Program the kiln from a comfortable position. The controller, pilot light, and switch are mounted on a brushed stainless steel plate. Gain easy access to the electrical components by removing the front panel.

Stainless steel rod warmer

To save production time, pre-heat glass rods on top of the kiln. The 5” long stainless steel rod warmer is slotted for five rods.

Made in America

The kiln is made at the Paragon factory in Mesquite, Texas, which is about 20 minutes east of Dallas. Our kilns are not merely assembled -  they are hand crafted.

Thermocouple with “special limit” wire

The thermocouple senses temperature inside the kiln. It is the small rod that extends into the firing chamber. The ¼” wide Type-K, 14-gauge, exposed-tip thermocouple is made with special-limit wire for superior accuracy. The exposed tip gives the controller a fast response time for even temperatures during holds. The thermocouple is made in America to our exacting standards.

paragon f130

This kiln offers all the same abilities of the f120, but has my personal preference of being taller instead of wider. The user friendly digital controller offers a variety of programs making this a great beginners kiln, or for any level of artist.

Full Package Kiln

I absolutely love this kiln. I considered many options before making this purchase but decided on the added height over the F-120 to give me more potential down the road. It took some extra time and funds, but I am 100% glad I went with this Kiln over anything smaller. It has a great design/function, is easy to use as a beginner, and will fulfill my kiln needs for a long time, if not always. Thank you Paragon and MGA for the help. I have no complaints with the F-130 and fully recommend it if you are considering it.

As a full time lampworker this kiln is my go to. Easy to open doors, fast ramping time, enough height and width, perfect for kiln shelves and easy to use control panel. With the new ergo face, the much better rod rest, mercury relays for longevity, and new kilns bricks make my purchase even more rewarding. Definitely my go to kiln if I had to buy again.

Just what I was looking for.

Great kiln to grow into!

by

Absolutely love this kiln. Have had it now for two years. Never had an issue. And that's coming from a beginner who has never used one. I love the fact it runs on your basic household electric too. I'm still growing into it as an artist which is what I was looking for. I figure why buy a small one just to have to buy another later was my philosophy. You won't be disappointed.

Paragon F120 Time machine

by

You ever get that feeling, should I buy this? Will this even work? What if this brakes? That’s pretty expensive, these are all the thoughts and feelings of a human and this item was crafted by some very intelligent humans to be exact. This kiln offers a wide range of programs, a excellent hand book and instruction manual to guid you along your journey of installation and program set ups, step by step instructions just as if your building your favorite LEGO set from back when you were 12, also a warranty is included Incase you’re whole shop comes crashing down. So when you go to think about buying that cheeper product, or think you may want something more fancy just remember this baby runs off plutonium, and once this baby hits 88mph your going to see some serious S##t.

Dirt road, no problem for mountain glass

by

With recommendations from some other glass artist, I chose the paragon f130. It will allow me to grow as a new flame worker. The mountain glass staff was great, knowledgeable and understanding to my request.

Work horse

Work horse of a kiln, runs constantly. I’ve had it for 5yrs now and just recently changed the relay.

Pretty Sweet, Pretty advanced

by

This was a major upgrade from my previous one, all the features are pretty cool, but I have no idea how to set it up for working with bro glass pipes. the manual wasn't very help since the kiln itself is a multi-purpose piece of equipment. if anyone has any tips id be grateful
