Dark Cobalt - Northstar
Dark Cobalt is the second most saturated of the four shades of cobalt blue Northstar produces. Dark Cobalt is well suited for thin blown work and cane work. Because of its intensity it must be worked in an oxidizing flame to prevent graying.
Second quality glass can have the properties of odd quality glass, but may also have small stones, air bubbles, vary in tone/shade, or the shape can be very out of round. Both odd and second quality glass can provide a great value to the right person.

This is a great color good dark saturated cobalt sticks that melt like butter....just don't over work it or it will get gray streaks

Works great for floral implosion work, or places where it will be stretched thin. Pretty much opaque, but not black.
A great blue that needs a little babying.
Great for layering over light colors. Vibrant blue when thin. Good for stringer use. Can get gray streaks if worked in too reducing of a flame or for too long.
