Details

GTT's instructional DVD is now available to view at www.glasstorchtech.com and will no longer be included with torches.

The Mirage torch is a 2 stage torch that uses the powerful Lynx 7 Jet for the center fire and 2 rings of jets with a total of 33 jets for the outer fire. This completely surface mix torch uses the patented Triple Mix technology and 40 total jets to provide unparalleled power for all types of glass.

The Mirage is the one of the most popular of the 2 stage Triple Mix torches in the lineup. It is great for soft or hard glass with the ability to produce many flame types from a soft bushy flame to a hard driving flame. The flame chemistry that is achieved with the Triple Mix technology has a wide range including a fuel rich reduction flame, a neutral flame, an oxygen rich oxidizing flame, and an over-oxidizing flame. These flame types make any type, color or effect of glass easy to work and manipulate.

The Mirage comes standard with a 4 stud manifold that allows for the most flexibility for any setup to be run. The primary use is for a foot pedal to be used to turn the outer fire on and off with the outer fire valves preset to the desired setting. Also the 4 stud can make use of different oxygen sources such as a concentrator on the center fire and tanked oxygen on the outer fire. In this situation the fuel will "Y" together at the torch for simplicity. A foot pedal is NOT required for a 4 stud torch, the hoses can "Y" back together to use a single fuel source and a single oxygen source with the option to use a foot pedal in the future.

The Mirage comes with 1' of 3/16" hose and adaptors with filter screens to adapt to standard 1/4" ID grade "T" hose on each stud. The adaptors have a barb that the 1/4" ID grade "T" hose slides over and is clamped securely. The Mirage comes standard with a purple manifold, red, blue and green valve caps and rack and pinion adjustment. It is mounted on a powder coated base that has holes for securing the base to the work table. Also included are complete instructions and a cleaning kit.

Best two stage torch out there...Period!

by -

Perhaps you are thinking of stepping up from a phantom, or lynx, or you want to buy your first torch that you will most likely never outgrow. The Mirage is it! To me this is the perfect 2 stage torch. I have ran a on a lynx, cheetah, Phantom, PM2D, and now the Mirage. This beast can rage anything from a laserbeam flame for thick solid work, to a large softer heatbase flame for thinner goblet work. I think the Mirage is a better flame than the Delta Elite, as there is not the huge flame gap between the lynx inner fire and the outer fire, like on the Delta. You will not be disappointed.

Amazing Torch!

Well worth the price. Able to handle tiny projects all the way to fairly large/ thick pieces. Pair this up with a nice foot pedal for maximum efficiency. Don't hesitate to buy, these torches aren't available long for a reason.

Perfect torch

by

1st torch I bought and learned on, and I doubt I'll ever outgrow it. I love mine so much that I bought a 2nd one so I'd never be without one.

if you can afford it, start with this one!

it will be a very long time before you need an upgrade from this beauty. small detailed work all the way up to 70 mill tubing is possible with this torch. add a foot pedal to save gas and you are riding pimp! this torch is the industry standard! buy it!

The Last Torch you will Need to Buy

by -

Seriously, this is the Last torch you will ever buy. The triple mix allows the heat to penetrate deep into the glass. Very quite. Very reliable. A must have

Using The Force Through Your Very Own Lightsaber

by

After spending 3 years with my GTT Mirage I decided it was time to write an honest review. This torch is like Yoda's lightsaber. My connection with the flame it produces as it flows over my glass like a waterfall of consistent and powerful heat gives me complete control over my experience in my studio. Yet, it creates something more powerful than any standard tool in my shop. It is the lungs, the heart beat, and the soul of my studio. As I become one with my lightsaber my connection to my flow state grows. The relationship I have with this torch fuels the fire inside of me, and through complete unification the creativity inside of me escapes my body and manifests into physical glass creations. This torch is powerful, intuitive, and beautiful. I highly recommend beginning your relationship with a GTT Mirage today.

“You’re covered!” This torch’s for you

by

I owned a Mirage for 5 years and run thousands of hours on it, once again Gtt with their superb quality and craftsmanship shines every time you fire this baby up. Lynx center fire gives super versatile flame control and out rings brings the fire when needed. As I said with the Delta elite, you are the limitation of this torch. Workhorse you can count on.

A REVELATION

I'm a european flameworker, which means all I knew about torches came from the fluffy, hugging and gentle nature of a Herbie.

While they might be ideal for thin, delicate scientific work, a HA-Zenit struggles to heat larger, solid masses of glass quickly.

When I unboxed my GTT Mirage, I found myself regretting that I had not waited on the three stage Samurai, because the Mirage's face and overall appearance is a lot more compact and looks tiny compared to my 65mm Zenit.

BOY was I wrong! I still can't believe the insanely thrusting - yet precise LASERS that this torch produces.

The output is astounding and gets the glass soupy real quick, but she can be a gas/oxy-hog if you rage her - so be aware of that!

The Mirage cuts down time on heavier, solid work significantly and allows for some "handsfree" operation if it's hooked up to a foot pedal.

There is definately a learning curve to it, but I can highly reccommend it to anyone who's looking for a punch.

-Greetings from Austria!

N.1 Everyday torch

by

Quality Torch with great precision.
I've used Herbert's, Carlisles, bethlahams, GTTs and pretty much every size from each company.
The GTT Mirage has to be my favourite though, for quick production or precision in more delicate pieces, this torch has great control and output. If you learn how to use a torch, I highly recommend going for the GTT Mirage. From big to small, it covers it all.

Total game changer

I recently bought a mirage and didn't know what to expect going from a bethlehem to it. I have had the luxury to test several other torches through friends.. herbert arnold 40 and 50mm version, carlisle cc and cc+, bethelehem bravo and champion also. I have owned a bravo for 4 years. Everyone kept telling me to get a mirage, so i finally listened. Hands down this torch has a more unique flame then any of them. You have the abilitiy to achieve the same lil pinpoint a herbie can and its just as hot and precise. I thought maybe I would have issues surface working fume with this because of the excessive oxygen compared to my prior torch, yet i have had no issues what so ever. These torches are definetly built for someone who can handle the heat. Melt in times are insanely fast, even when working on a more dense solid colored tubing. All in all they are the most versatile torch I have had the chance to use and I wouldn't hesitate if youre thinking of getting one.

This is a great tool to help make LightSabres!

Fantastic torch

by

I've been using a Redmax for the last 3 years, I like the torch, but need to up my production rates. I ordered a Mirage with Griffen foot pedal and on the first day of use upped my production rate by 75%. Instant switch from inner to outer fire instead of 20 seconds turning knobs to change torches and fine tune flame while piece cools down. The Lynx inner fire is perfect for detail work. Gathering glass is much faster. Love this torch. No problem making the switch. Comfortable with the triple mix within 1st. Hour. Highly recommend anybody doing production consider this torch and pedal combo. This upgrade will pay for itself with increased production in one month. I should have made the switch months ago.

this thing is hot!

Wow, that is all I say about this torch. Every possibe flame characteristic you can imagine and super high heat if you want to melt it and melt it fast here you go. I have worked up to 38mm Heavy wall tubing and it tackles it like butter. I am sure it will do higher mm glass but have not tried. This is NOT a beginer torch but for intermediate to advanced I highly recomend this to your line of torches.
