NS045 Blue Moon is a favorite striking color in the Northstar palette. When worked in an oxidizing flame Blue Moon yields bright metallic blues. When worked in a neutral flame it yields bright hazy greens. When worked in a heavily reducing flame Blue Moon produces a nice ash gray. It is well suited for stringer application, blown work, and sculpture. Be sure to try encasing NS045 Blue Moon with clear or NS009 Yellow for great effects.

This is another one of those colors that you can throw pretty much any flame combo at and it wont boil. I always have some of this color on hand its great for blown and solid work alike. If you are just starting out you should grab a pound or two of these, you wont regret it.

One rod yet many colors!

I'm new to lampwork and glass, but Blue Moon is my favorite color I've used so far. I love the quality of the glass and its smooth melt. The colors it creates alone, with fuming, or with clear are just incredible! Great, great color!

Awesome color

I love using this color implosion style! All the different blues are really great!

Never disappointed

Blue moon never disappoints especially when sandblasted!

Favorite striking color yet!

Easy to use and a beautiful strike in the flame every time! Cannot go wrong with blue moon!

A little can go a long way

Works smooth in an oxidizing flame and strikes brilliantly after a slight reduction. A little stiff but Works great in wrap and rakes as well as blow ins

Blue moon is a great striker

Blue moon is a great striker with lots of vibrant blues and greens great for encasing or implosion work.

Holds its consistency

I use this color pulled down into .5mm stringers before pulling them further down into cane. The color always pulls through beautifully, and is very consistent. If you like making cane this color is a wonderful choice. It’s also a lot of fun to use as a surface color with heat manipulation make a nice icy white to dark blue.

Incredibly easy to work with!

Blue Moon has been one of my absolute favorite colors to work with thus far. Is incredibly forgiving in the flame and when worked properly gives you an amazing silvery finish on tol of its beautiful blue hue.

Oldie but a goody

Heavy silver blue. Solid. Great for use on surface for blasting or carving.

Pretty sweet blue

A great blue to start experimenting with flame chemistry, really has some pretty effects ,especially with clear or ns yellow

Shades of blue
