Cobalt - Northstar
Details
Of the four shades of cobalt blue Northstar produces, this ranks as the second lightest. NS001 is well suited for small blown work, as well as sculpture when a medium transparent blue is desired. NS001 Cobalt Blue can take a lot of heat and can be worked in a wide range of flame settings. Though the color is extremely intense, be sure to stay out of reducing flames to prevent any dulling or graying.

AWESOME COLOR!!!!
by Ryan E -
This color is awesome just saturated enough to be a nice dark cobalt color but not too saturated so you can work it hard and long and it won't get the gray streaks like the dark cobalt gets.... I keep a lot of this in the shop
Beautiful Blue!

I always keep an inventory of Northstar's Cobalt Blue on hand. I have used in many different applications and love the results. This color is not sensitive to the different types of flames and I have had wonderful results to include coil pot application. If you are searching for a beautiful blue, Cobalt Blue is one to try!
Backing Color
by Matt S
One of my favorite backing colors for pendants. Works real easy and always keeps its color as long as you use a neutral to oxy flame.

Very nice color to work with, very cooperative :)
Bulletproof color
by Jordan Clymer
Cobalt is made by nearly every color company, but Northstar firsts are great quality and ready to go after a light cleaning. Works easily and very forgiving for new lampworkers, a great way to add some color to a project. Also has good saturation so it can be encased or thinned down and still keep a nice blue intensity.

The best classic Cobalt. Love using it worth fume work... won't let me give 5 stars or I would have.
