Details

NS026 Double Amber/Purple is the more intense version of NS013 Amber Purple. It produces the most exciting metallic purples and vermilions. It behaves similarly in the flame as regular Amber/Purple but because of its greater intensity more care has to be taken to prevent reduction. Double Amber/Purple can be stretched further and can be blown relatively thin without losing the vibrant purple strike. Be sure to try layering Double Amber/Purple over NS081 Blue Caramel.

Love it

Took me a minute to warm up to this color. Takes some time to figure out depending on the application. But when you get used to it, the colors you can get from it are really amazing.

Fun stuff

These striking colors kick ass!

Practice makes more consistent

I have a love/hate relationship with this color. It can be quite temperamental. Get your flame chemistry just right and she strikes some absolutely beautiful colors. Get your flame chemistry a bit off and you wind up with a surprise when it comes out of the kiln. It is a learning curve.

Excellente

As amazing of a color as possible. Great for beginners. Huge variety of different hues and super easy to strike out.

Blood of kings

Great silver color! Deep purples, flame or kiln strike, encased or on the surface double amber purple is an amazing color making any work you do stand out above the rest.

If you don't get any other colors at all. Beginner or pro. Get double amber purple. Best frit, rod or whatever. Great color. Easy to work. Easy to learn.

<br>This color is why glassblowing couples don't work... "did you just use the last of the DAP? I bought the last 5 lbs. You buy more or I'm filing divorce!"

Love the color. Easy to work with

Intense A/P offering

by -

I often try and use the double A/P in blow-ins or other applications where I expect it to be applied thinner. I do not feel like I have good color control with this a/p yet, but the random-ish results I achieve always look great. It's always fun to pop the kiln open after annealing and see what I get!

Goodstuff!

Awesome color! So much variance once you learn to work it. Definitely recommend giving it a shot if your looking for those fumey purples.
